Curator's Lecture: Meg Bero and Chris Pappan "In Two Worlds: Ledger Drawing of the 19th and 21st Centuries"

Date: February 12, 2019 Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Event Description Schingoethe Center Executive Director Meg Bero and artist Chris Pappan (Kanza, Osage, Cheyenne River Sioux) share the history of narrative drawings created by the Plains tribes. Ledger drawings give us a Native perspective on the tumultuous last quarter of the 19th century and a record of Plains life at that time. Contemporary artists are continuing the tradition in transformative ways.
